Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)
Indefinite leave to remain (ILR) allow individuals to remain in the UK permanently without any further restrictions attached to their residency. Once the individual has remained in the UK for at least five years uninterrupted an application for ILR is permitted. ILR provides the right to live, work and study in the UK.
Once ILR has been granted it cannot be taken away. Unless the individual has committed a criminal offence, the holder remains outside the UK for over two years and finally if ILR is obtained by deception or withholding of important information from the authorities.

Who can apply for ILR
If you hold a current work visa, dependents visa family visa or a long term resident of the UK you will be eligible to apply for ILR.
How to apply for ILR
ILR applications currently are made online and it is important that you use the correct application form. Together with your application you are requested to pay a fee of £2404 to the Home Office and additional £800 for super priority processing in 24 hours and £500 for the 5-day processing fee.

• Evidence of your leave to remain (visa)
• Proof of absences from the UK
• Payslips from your employer to prove you meet the minimum requirements, for skilled workers
• English language requirements and must have passed the life in the UK test.
