UK Residency

Permanent Residence (PR) status in the United Kingdom (UK) implies that you can reside, work, and study within the country indefinitely, without the need for a new visa. This status is also referred to as Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).

Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)

Indefinite leave to remain (ILR) allow individuals to remain in the UK permanently without any further restrictions attached to their residency. Once the individual has remained in the UK for at least five years uninterrupted an application for ILR is permitted. ILR provides the right to live, work and study in the UK.
Once ILR has been granted it cannot be taken away. Unless the individual has committed a criminal offence, the holder remains outside the UK for over two years and finally if ILR is obtained by deception or withholding of important information from the authorities.

Secondly you will get a British passport and gain full rights to vote in elections and the right to stand for public office. In addition to the above as a British citizen you will have access to free NHS medical care and no restrictions attached to your right to work.
